Church Beliefs & Tenants

1.  In the verbal inspiration of the bible.

2.  In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

3.  That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary.  That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead; that he ascended to Heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the intercessor.

4.  That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that repentance is commanded by God, for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

5.  That justification, regeneration and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

6.  In sanctification subsequent to the new birth through faith in the blood of Christ, through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.

7.  Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.

8.  In the baptism of the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.

9.  In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.  That this is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

10.  In water baptism by immersion and that all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

11.  Divine healing provided for all in the atonement.

12.  In the Lord’s Supper (communion) and the washing of the feet.

13.  In the second coming of Jesus Christ.  First to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Himself in the air.  Second, to reign on the earth for a thousand years.

14.  In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked.15.  In prayer and fasting to maintain power with God and victory in our Christian Life.

A Call is Answered

Gods Call is Answered

Gods Calling Is Answered Called into the ministry at the tender age of 19, when the Lord gave her this scripture, St. Mark 16:15 - 16 "And he said unto them, go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeith and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned."

  • Our History A Chronology - The Formative YearsApril 1967 Worshipers, faithful parishioners and evangelists, at the TRENTON DELIVERANCE CENTER CHURCH: Pastor Rev, Bishop Perkins Broach Sr.  The Call to Higher Heights February 1982 while ministering in Connecticut God promised the Brewers a new work and God challenged them to stretch-out and to form a new branch in the church; to prepare a new place of worship. Obeying God's call, the Brewers prepared the way. They began by worshiping in their home, and others came. June thru November 1982, after just two services in the home of the Brewers God opened the heart of Pastor Mother Loman; she, in turn, opened the doors of her church (THE NEW PHILADELPHIA CHURCH) at 123 Stokes Avenue Trenton. Thus the Brewer's ministry was given room to grow even as they looked for their own place to fellowship.   The Need For a Place In 1982, interest rates were at historical heights. Those were the inflationary years, international oil embargoes etc... The banks were squeamish to make loans on so called 'commercial properties" to folks with no track record. The building's asking price was $11O,OOO.OO. Advisers counseled against borrowing money in such perilous economic times . They had no institutional support, only $2OO.OO cash-but GREAT FAITH IN GOD.
  • They called the real estate broker and, using faith as their collateral, pledged to raise $25,OOO.OO by the close at the end of the quarter. God rewarded their obedience and faith by sending monies from Ohio, and from South Carolina. They received monies from Pennsylvania and from Florida and even from Western Europe.   Birth of a Church June 1983 THE INTERFAITH TABERNACLE CHURCH is born with the charge to be nondenominational, to stand on Christ, and to take the ministry to the people. Pastor Ernest Brewer Sr. delivered the first message titled: BUILD ON SOLID ROCK. The second message was titled: NO SHORT CUTS TO THE PROMISED LAND.   Beyond The 4 Walls August 1984, 1st Annual Tent Revival at N. Clinton Ave (later at Five Points Trenton). The event has become one of the church's signature events, going into the street, preaching the gospel & compelling man to be saved. Scores of people have been saved, healed & delivered due to this outreach program. God has blessed us to work with local churches, who help to carry the burden, including: Samaritan Baptist, Trenton Deliverance Center, Miracle Tabernacle Church, Bethel Outreach Ministries, Mt. Olive Holiness Church, Princeton Deliverance Center & more. This intensive two-week service has become one of the cornerstone mission of the church.   When Trouble Comes May 1991-THE CHURCH CATCHES FIRE-LITERALLY! Suffers some loss of membership. INTERFAITH CLOSES FOR RENOVATIONS. BUT THE BILLS CONTINUE.   Wherever 2 or 3 Agree May 1991, the church meets at THE ROBERT WILSON COMMUNITY CENTER, Wilfred Ave., Hamilton. The expenses are $1.600.OO per week, plus there is the church mortgage to pay, and the church renovations to be completed. There are mortgages on other properties owned by the church and insurance premiums for all of the same.   Lord, Thou Has Been My Dwelling Place... Up from the ashes--mortgage burning party, God keeps on blessing. . . June '91 thru, the new year '92 THE MEMBERュSHIP STICKS! the faithful turn out to each service at the community center and every spiritual and financial need is met. NOW ISN'T THAT JUST LIKE JESUS! Feb. 1992, after $60,000.00 plus in renovations including total electrical rewires, new fixtures, paint etc...{the first phase of renovations was completed, and) the church has a GRAND REOPENING AND REDEDICATION. Rev. Barbara Brewer delivers the message titled: UP FROM THE ASHES. Oct. 1992, the church pays its mortgage in full and terminates that obligation by consummating all pertinent filings. Nov. 1994, the church pays its mortgage on its other property and terminates that obligation as well.   Use Me Lord in Thy Service Aug. 1995 the 12th annual tent revival is attended by the Honorable Douglas Palmer, Mayor of Trenton. At the invitation of the Brewers several of the best ministers in Trenton form a consortium to cast out devils, heal the sick-in the name of Jesus-and to lay waste the myth that great men of God can't work together under one small tent (the tent, incidentally, is a big one).   December 24, 2004, Senior Pastor Ernest Brewer went on to be with the Lord; we lost one of our founding pastors. Co-Pastor Barbra Brewer assumed the mantle & now leads the parish, along with her dedicated ministerial staff. We know that death is a part of life, God is with us, even during the tough times & lends his strength to help us through. With God's grace, we can overcome any obstacle, as long as we keep our eyes focused on Christ.
  • John 11:25 - 26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
  • We know that different challenges, circumstances and seasons are inevitably and that if we walk with God (and keep the faith), he'll guide us through and give us peace in the midst of the storm.
  • We are reaching out into the community & dong more than ever before; our zeal inspired, even the more. Pastor Barbara Brewer subscribes to the personal philosophy of activism (not slowing down nor missing a beat). We are doing what we can to make a positive impact in our city & to make life better. . . not just for our church parish but doing our part to make the world a better place. Demonstrating God's love through our lives (committed to service), lifestyle & actions.

Pastors Message

Hello Friends:
My name is Pastor Barbara F. Brewer, pastor of Interfaith Tabernacle Church in Trenton, NJ. I have been chosen to Shepard this congregation for the past 22 years. God has tremendously blessed us. We have a beautiful church and several surrounding properties, in which various ministries are housed.

We believe in community outreach and activism and have some wonderful annual events that we promote, to let people know about Gods love and our commitment to the community. One of the premier events that we host is the Annual Tent Crusade and Outreach Program; which is a two-week outdoor revival (a good old fashion camp meeting) that is co-produced along with eight area churches that we fellowship with. We believe in taking the gospel to the street and letting people know that they are loved and cherished.

In an era where so many people have given up or become despondent, its important to remind people of their self-worth, value and to let people know that God cares and loves them. People have lost sight of the good news of the gospel, Jesus lives; and through him all things are possible, if you only believe.
Other church programs include: Street Ministry, ZAB (educational and scholarship fund), CMT Program (mentoring program for children and teens); intensive Bible Study and more.

Our unofficial church motto is “Love is Action” and we are trying to make a difference in the community in which we live and beyond; through leadership, example, demonstrating love in action and through Gods divined grace & guidance. We believe in the power and mighty move of the Lord; God is still working miracles and we have seen lives changed and relationships renewed. Truly we serve a mighty God that cares for and is concerned about our every need, all we need do is to honor and reverence him

We have a wonderful and dedicated group of people who love the Lord,
fellowshipping with us and invite you to visit, anytime that you are in the area.
You are welcome to attend any of our services (check out the website for the
weekly itinerary). You are a child of God and our brother/sister in Christ.
Hope to see you soon.Pastor Barbara F. Brewer
